If you are a Canadian, aged 55 or over and live in your own home, you could receive money through a reverse mortgage in a few simple steps.

  1. Request an estimate either by calling (input phone numbers), emailing us at or simply by applying online.

  2. Our staff at Mortgages for Seniors & Retirees will be pleased to answer any questions you may have and will advise you how to best meet your financial needs.

  3. Once you have firmly decided you would like to proceed, we shall process your reverse mortgage application with Canada Home Income Plan and will work closely with Canada Home Income Plan to ensure that your file his handled efficiently and in a timely fashion.

  4. An appraisal will be ordered by CHIP to evaluate the fair market value of your property and once it is reviewed, the final amount of equity you will be able to withdraw from your home will be confirmed.  At this point you will be required to seek independent legal advise regarding the transaction and will have to sign the mortgage documentation with your lawyer.

  5. Once all the legal mortgage documentation is in place and registered in your land title office, the mortgage funds will be immediately made available to you.  This entire process can be generally done within two to four weeks.
